Rivulets of tawdry taffeta
Cascade like tears
Down a cheek,
Hot with repression and disdain;
I can control the pain.
Corseted against my will,
By women, shrill
With intent and torment.
The happy day approaches
And I must assume a role -
Another supplicant
On the altar of union.
