catharsis
I sat, still, idyllic,
Peaceful in green
Hues that warmed
And consoled.
Now a past that
Refused to die ...
How I feel
The tempest lash
My heart
From the start
I knew it would come,
Felt it brewing
Intensifying in the east
Rolling westward
And decimating my
Box of memories
Buried in stone
Could not leave it alone
Green turns maudlin red
Instead of peace
I shatter into
Pieces of life
And death
Violent in its
Desire, uproots me
Like a tree
You see
I am standing,
Surrounded by a
Whirling dervish
Of frenetic feelings
I gasp for air
It tears at my
Hair - I have to
Part with the past
I am naked
Empty
Poignant
Sad
Weary
I rest my head
On the lead
Headstone
Commemorating
My destruction
I await the
Equinox
Of rebirth
Stir me then
My friend ...
